Dartmouth Pottery England Piggy Bank.  

Rare Dartmouth Pottery black piggy bank, still has his original ring through his nose, black in colour.

We know he looks a bit grumpy, but he is kind of sweet.

Measures – 8 inches (203mm) long x 6 inches (152mm) wide x 5 inches (127mm) tall.

Impressed mark to base ‘Dartmouth Devon England’.

Dates to the 1960’s.

There is a slot in top for money, however to get your savings back out, you unfortunately have to smash him, as there is no hole in the base.

Condition – in straight original condition, with no chips or cracks, just some very small age related marks to black glaze.

The Dartmouth Pottery was started in 1947 in Devon and produced earthenware teapots, tableware, mugs and goods. The pottery continued to make the traditional Devon slipware for which it had always been known until closing in 2002. The Dartmouth Pottery took over the Honiton Pottery in 1997.
