Interesting pot in the shape of gentleman’s head.
We have been wracking our brains trying to work out who this is......possibly a dickens character...Tony Weller??...we thought Mr Pickwick, but he hasn’t got any spectacles. Possibly John Bull....Toby Philpot....if anyone does recognise him, please get in touch.
Moulded construction.
No makers mark, but does have ‘England’ written on the base underneath the glaze.
May have at some stage of its life had a lid.....possibly in the shape of a hat....this is long gone.
Stands approx 4½ inches tall x 4 inches in diameter.
Condition – really nice with no damage, chips or restoration, displays very well indeed, couple of tiny flaws in the glaze which have been there since it was made.
